My Mirfield Awards 2019

We are excited to announce that The Whole Autism Family has been nominated for a third year running. Last year you may remember we won The Community Organisation and Project Award, which was such a great honour!

Exciting Partnerships have been formed!

First of all this year we will be working closely with Cliffe House to provide a wide variety of social events. You can find out more information about Cliffe House on the following website.

Also we would like to announce that we have been selected as one of two charities which Nest Photography will be supporting this year. Again more information regarding Nest Photography can be found on the following website.

Kirklees Autism Show 2019

It is with great excitement that i can confirm The Whole Autism Family will be stallholders for the first time at the annual event. Taking place on Wedenesday 1st may, at the Textiles Centre of Excellence, Huddersfield, HD2 1YF.

NCS Partnership

Last summer we had a fantastic opportunity to in partnership with the NCS programme as one of their local charities. The students aged between 16-17 years old, really embraced the opportunity to raise awareness on behalf of the charity.

Each group hosted a wide variety of events including a charity football game and an Autism Party held at Sensory World in Dewsbury. In doing so they succeeded in raising a grand total of £2,542.43 and I hope you all join us in thanking them for their hard work through the summer.

We are also extremely excited that we have the opportunity of working together with NCS again during 2019!

Co-Op Community Intiative

Following the enormous success of last years partnership with Mirfield Co-op a staggering amount of £8918.60 was presented during a community celebrations.

Bangla Lounge Charity Meal

Each year the Bangla Lounge in Birstall select a local charity to raise funds for. Owner Abdul Kahar selected The Whole Autism Family as the beneficiary of the 2018 Charity Evening held in December. The evening was attended by the Mayor of Kirklees, Gwen Lowe.

Claire Hudson Boxing Match

One of our members Claire Hudson, who has two children one of them who is on the Autism Spectrum, carried out what she described as 'the greatest challenge of her life' as she entered the boxing ring to raise awareness of autism as well as vital funds for the charity.

Pen-y-ghent Climb

We were approached by one of our members Nazia Iqbal , who had the fantastic idea of climbing Pen-y-ghent with her friends and family members to raise funds to enable us to continue running our after school sessions.

Not wanting to miss out on the fun our committee members, Anne-Marie and Martin, decided to join the ladies for what was a great day. The total raised so far has been an amazing £4600!

Leeds 10k

We were approached by another parent wanting to raise funds for the charity, Muz Ali and a team of six others decided to run the Leeds 10k and chose The Whole Autism Family as one of the charities that they will be supporting. The following committee members also took part on the day.
